MIL-DTL-38999 connectors are a high-performance cylindrical connector family designed for cable-to-panel I/O applications in military aerospace and other demanding situations. There are four unique connector series in the family:
- The Series 1 Bayonet
- Series II Low-Profile Bayonet
- Series III Stub-ACME Thread
- Series IV Breech-Lock
Glenair manufactures a wide range of environmental and hermetic class MIL-DTL-38999 QPL and commercial type connectors in all four series including lanyard-release products, bulkhead feed-thrus, composite and specialty metal cable plugs and receptacles, connector savers, EMI/EMP filter receptacles and Coax/Quadrax contact equipped connectors. Our line of MIL-DTL-38999 Series III and IV environmental and hermetic connectors are qualified to the Mil-Spec. Other series which are not specifically covered by the MIL-DTL-38999 specification, such as our Sav-Con connector savers or EMI/EMP filter solutions meet or exceed the requirements of MIL-DTL-38999. Time-Tested, Industry Standard Breech-Lock Connector
From vertical launch fire-control, tracking, and multi-target missile systems to rugged industrial applications such as mining/gas-pressure blasting, the Glenair MIL-DTL-38999 Series IV type connector is the ultimate solution for positive and reliable breech-locking connector performance. Built IAW MIL-DTL-38999 Series IV, Glenair series 234-105 plug and receptacle connectors are available in shell sizes 11–25, with all MIL-STD 1560 insert arrangements as well as high-density and hybrid shielded contact arrangements. The heart of the 234-105 connector is its revolutionary coupling nut/locking technology which provides familiar breech-lock mating augmented with both primary and secondary locking mechanisms. Environmentally sealed, EMI grounded, and outfitted with pin-to-pin mating protection to prevent circuit shorts and mechanical damage, the Glenair 234-105 delivers unsurpassed reliability and anti-demating performance.
